University of Minnesota Physicians'
Smiley's Clinic is inviting neighbors to a grand opening celebration, commemorating the relocation of the clinic, now located at 2020 E. 28th St., Minneapolis.
The clinic staff is offering a number of free health screenings at the event, including blood pressure screenings and blood glucose (blood sugar) tests, as well as access to information about clinic services, including smoking cessation plans. Refreshments and entertainment will also be offered, and visitors can enter a raffle for door prizes, including a bicycle.
Visitors will be able to tour the new clinic, which was designed to allow medical personnel easier and faster access to more spacious and patient-friendly exam rooms.
Smiley's Clinic staff is pleased to be a healthy development for the east Phillips and Seward communities.
"We hope that the new location will provide an accessible health care option for the area, and we look forward to serving the needs of patients from the Phillips and Seward neighborhoods," said Jennifer Welsh, M.D., program director of the clinic.
The same health care professional team staffs the clinic, providing care for patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, for health issues ranging from routine to complex.
Welsch added that health care providers at Smiley's seek to have a lasting relationship with their patients over time.
